Route of Historical Center

The heart of Guadalajara brings together some of the most representative sites in its history and culture. The Cabañas Museum, neoclassical jewel and World Heritage, stands out for the murals of José Clemente Orozco. Around it are monuments and squares that make up the Square Cross, such as the Plaza de Armas, the Plaza de la Liberación, Plaza Guadalajara and the Rotonda de los Jaliscienses Ilustres, where art, history and public life converge.

Among the most emblematic buildings are the Degollado Theatre, a symbol of cultural splendor; the Government Palace, of Baroque origin; and the Municipal Palace, of virreinal inspiration. The Congress and the Palace of Justice represent the seat of the powers of the State. Spaces such as the Joyero Center, the Fuente de la Inmolación a Quetzalcoatl and the Museum of Journalism complement this urban tour that combines architecture, art and historical memory, with the Cathedral of Guadalajara as its central and spiritual point.
