Route of Religious Architecture

The Guadalajara Centre has a remarkable variety of temples that reflect the architectural and religious evolution of the city since the 16th century. Baroque constructions such as San Felipe Neri, Santa Monica and Aránzazu, Neoclassical temples such as El Carmen, San Agustín and the Metropolitan Sagrarian, and neo-Gothic jewels such as the Expiatory Temple and Our Lady of the Rosary are highlighted.

The Cathedral of Guadalajara, started in 1561, is the main symbol of the city, while buildings such as Santa María de Gracia, San Francisco de Assisi and the Sanctuary of Guadalupe show the transit between styles and times, preserving valuable works of art and a profound spiritual heritage.
