Sanctuary of Our Lady of Solitude

The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Soledad is one of the oldest and most representative religious sites in Tlaquepaque. Inaugurated on 27 July 1741 on the initiative of José Antonio Caballero, this temple was conceived as a space dedicated to the patron of the place, since then being consolidated as a central point of faith and community cohesion. His presence has accompanied the historical development of the municipality, becoming a spiritual reference deeply rooted in local identity. In a baroque style with Roman influences, the sanctuary stands out for its richly decorated facade, where the Salomonic columns, altars and a religious cover of great visual strength stand out. Despite the restorations made over the centuries, the temple has preserved its original character, keeping intact the essence of its architecture and symbolism.
