Tapathy Square

The area of Tapathy Square is seventy thousand square meters and is located between the Cabañas Hospice and the Degollado Theatre, where nine blocks were demolished. The governor who carried out the project was Flavio Romero de Velasco. In 1982, in the framework of the Fifth Meeting of the Republic, the sculptural ensemble of Víctor Manuel Contreras, called the immolation of Quetzalcoatl, was opened in Tapathy Square. These are five monumental works whose central figure is 25 meters high.
