Guadalajara City Museum

The Guadalajara City Museum, opened on February 14, 1992, is a space that makes known the history and various cultural aspects of the city. It is located in a building dating back to the late 17th century, which was originally part of the Capuchino Monk Convent. The museum has ten exhibition rooms. Six of them, located on the ground floor, offer a complete tour of the history, urbanism, ethnography and art of Guadalajara, ranging from the time of conquest to the modern time. The other four rooms are intended for temporary exhibitions that are regularly renewed, providing visitors with a dynamic experience. In addition to the exhibitions, the museum organizes concerts, conferences, editorial presentations, and offers guided tours, courses and workshops. It also has an auditorium, a library and a main courtyard, which enrich its cultural and educational offer, making it a reference to know the city in depth.
